Memorial Day Weekend Activities

Actually the weekend was jammed packed! Friday after school, we finished picking all the small landscaping rocks out of the old sandbox. You see, Bond and a generous friend of ours, Ryan with the pick em' up truck, picked up a yard of dirt and dropped it in our drive way. So after picking all the rocks out we filled up the old sandbox with new dirt! This all happened on Friday night!

Saturday morning: vegetable plant shopping and of course shopping for other miscellaneous things. . . . .

So after much shopping we came home, re-energized (ate lunch) and started planting the garden! WOW! We have lots of stuff planted. . . Let's see, cherry tomatoes, regular tomatoes, sweet peppers, habanero and jalapeno peppers, lettuce, sweet peas, carrots, radishes, onion, garlic, chives from grandma, cilantro and a mint plant! Some plants and some seeds!

After planting the carrot seeds, Bayat asks, "Are we going to plant dip too?" Mommies response, "No silly, you buy dip at the store." We tease her because the only way she will eat carrots is to eat them raw with lots of dip. Actually she eats lots of dip with one carrot!!

So take a look at our URBAN GARDEN! It's pretty cool! Oh yea, we also planted a pumpkin plant, squash plant and a cucumber plant near our shed!

We have a few new friends in our garden too! Take a look! A solar butterfly ~ It's really groovy, it glows green at night!

And our neighborhood lizard~

We also bought Bond the rest of his birthday present! A bird bath.

Here's Fenric watching out for any possible bird landings.

So hopefully, we will have some good veggies to eat from our very own garden this summer! We'll see.
