chicken (n.) - a place where you play with dishes, cook, serve food.
Used in context: Daddy, we can't play in the 'chicken' because mommy put our food away.
It's really kitchen, but Kidist keeps calling it a chicken!! Go figure!!
walking street (n.) - a place where you walk between a persons yard and parkway!
Used in context: Mommy, can we go play over there on the walking street?
It's really a sidewalk. The girls wanted to go and play with the neighbor girls and I told them they couldn't play in the street, then Kidist says, we can play on the 'walking street'.
There is one more but we can't remember the word. So when I am awakened at 3:00 am some morning remembering, I'll come and post it.

Today was our communities CROPWALK! The girls have been talking about it for weeks now and today was the day. Today was the wet, rainy, thundering, lightening, damp, humid day! But we still walked. WHY?? Well, we walk because they walk. We want to assist people in becoming aware of the global as well as local needs that our world has. So we were fortunate that Tom, a friend from church, brought an extra golf umbrella (extra extra big umbrella) for us to use. Regardless, I still looked like a drowned rat, but oh well, it's for a great cause!
So anyway, we walked 5K. Pretty good I think for being a wet, rainy, thundering, lightening, damp, humid day! The girls didn't start petering out until about 1/4 - 1/2 mile home and then Bayat got a piggy back ride by Tom. Yes, the one who brought the extra big umbrella. So extra fun for her. Tom looked at if from the perspective of getting a weight training workout! I just wasn't willing to pick her up, I already had two kids rain jackets as well as my own soaked and heavy coat, oh yea, and an umbrella!! :-) So we raised some money for a good cause, walked in the rain and I think Bond's beard will safely remain on his face. (Yes, this year's challenge was if the congregation raised enough money he would shave his beard!) And no, he didn't confer with me first :-)
Have a good monday~ Peace,

Friday, Good Friday
It's Good Friday and this is the girls first Easter! Oh such explaining to do!
Why is it Good Friday when Jesus dies?
Will he come back from the sky on Easter?
What is the last supper?
The list goes on and on, and I'm sure as we enter and leave the vigil tomorrow night, we will encounter more questions!!
I'm thankful that my girls know about Jesus, have some understanding, are curious and want to know. It's hard to explain at times, but we try.
Frightenly Early on Friday

Thrilling Thursday
Sorry, no real pictures to post about todays events!! So the "thrilling" event of the day is that I cleaned my 'study/office' area!! WOW, I know you are thinking, "So what, she cleaned her study/office area!! Whoopie!!!! Well, I have come to realize that there are lots of things that take a back seat when you have kids! And that is balancing the checkbook and being anal about other things in your life that you used to have time for!! So, I'm still adjusting!! And that's OK!! Yes, I'm talking to myself!! And there are days for that too!!
So I actually vacuumed my carpet and rearranged and you can see the bottom of my desk!! It's a really cool thing! REALLY!! REALLY COOL!!
So now, it's balancing the checkbook!! I'm just happy I'm not as behind as I was yesterday :-) HA!
Well, that's all for now folks!! Until Friday!!

Wild Wednesday
So I'm a little late!! So here is the picture of the day! Mommy with both Kidist and Bayat and of course our beloved dog, Fenric! Who just loves when my hair goes in a ponytail and the running shoes come out!!
Since the weather has been trying to be nice, Fenric and I try to run a few times a week. Well, the girls are wanting to go too! But they can't keep up with the dynamic duo (ha ha), so I've been taking Fenric first and then coming home, catching my breath and then running about 1 mile with the girls! At a much slower pace, but we get it done :-)
So Wednesday while getting ready, it was all about the fashion. Mind you, not for me but for the girls. As you can see, I don't really mind what I wear running as I take into consideration weather, wind, temperature, etc. But the girls have to find clothes that match my clothes, so it was finding brown pants and an orange shirt!! That was almost tricky, but we were successful in finding them the 'proper' running gear!! Brown pants with an orange shirt! So when summer comes, they will have to find different clothes.
So for the record, the girls ran approximately 1.2 miles with me yesterday!! Watch out for the Summer Olympics come 2020!! My girls will be ready!

Terrific Tuesday!
Good Morning ~
This week is our Spring Break week so the girls and I are home all week. So each day I thought we could post. . Actually I can get caught up. I downloaded pictures and everything.
SO. . . . . .
I've asked the girls what they want to say on the blog today and Kidist would like to tell everyone that it is almost Easter. Bayat wants to tell everyone to have fun with their family and to have a good day!

Good Bye Winter Hello. . . . .
SPRING!!
Warm weather, anything that looks like, smells like or even just resembles a little bit of spring would be welcome right about now!!
WE HAD SNOW YESTERDAY! No accumulation, but still!! Taxes are almost due!! It's April, shouldn't it be raining and in the 50's. . . . . .
So I've had the snowmen up for quite a while. WHY?? Well, it's Wisconsin and it's still cold, and has been cold forever. Well at least that's what it seems like!! So, last weekend, I told myself I would finish the "bunnies" and have it hanging up by Palm Sunday!! And before midnight last night, it was hanging where the snowmen have taken residence for the past 5 months!! YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
It at least has some hints of spring!! (And it's one more project I can check off the list!)

Some funnies from my ELL (English Language Learning) Girls
OK, so the girls are doing fantastic. Really they are! Kidist will pass kindergarten and be ready for first grade pretty on target. No big glaring delays. Bayat will move on from 4 year old kindergarten to the ole' fashion regular kindergarten that Kidist is now in. They have been speaking English only for quite some time and are really doing well. . . . .
So my dear husband (dh) has created this new rule about tattling or reporting as we like to call here at home. If one of the girls comes tattling, he asks her, "Are you hurt?, is your sister hurt, did you hurt your sister, did your sister hurt you?" and usually the answer is no, no, no, and finally no! So then dh says well, then you go work it out with your sister. And the usual, "but daddy. . . . ." So last Saturday morning, we are sitting around the family room reading the paper, sipping coffee and here come the girls, "mommy, daddy, so and so did. . . . . " Bond asks the important 4 questions and after he asks Kidist, "Did your sister hurt you?" she replies, "Yes, she hurt my feelings!" I had to do everything that I could to not laugh!! She's got his ticket and boy is she using it. So he listens for a minute to how her feelings were hurt and Kidist says, "Bayat stinked her tongue out at me." Now mind you she is very very serious and of course I am almost in hysterics because she really meant "stick" and I've already been holding my tongue for the feelings comment. So of course Bayat has to correct her and say "it's stick, not stink!" and we all start laughing. . . . And all week it has been our households funny phrase!!
Then there is the blueberry pie and ice cream story!! OMGoodness. . . . .Same weekend. We are having some blueberry pie after dinner and Kidist asks for the "white stuff" aka vanilla ice cream. She can't think of the word and she doing everything she can to describe it. We are letting her struggle a little bit because we want her to find the word on her own and finally Bayat says, "It's a** cream, Kidist!" (Ok, I hope you can figure out what the ** are!!) So once again, DH and I look at each other and really don't want to make a big deal, so we repeat (saying ice cream correctly for the example), "Oh, Kidist, would you like some ice cream?" But Bayat just keeps calling it a** cream!! She has no clue what she is saying and even after we have said the word a few times, she still has that little twang in the word ice!!
Oh well, it's all part of learning a new language and this weekend, we've had some fun with it!! I'm sure there'll be more!! I should really keep track!
