Good morning from SUPER MOM!!
Remember I said that one of the ole' standbys for New Year's resolutions was to be supermom!! (new one for me this year) Well, this morning I have achieved that goal: up early, showered first, did about 1 hour of work, girls up and dressed before breakfast and two lunches made before breakfast too!! So now it's after breakfast and the girls are packing their backpacks and readying for school. I even did their hair extra pretty today with petite little barretts! So for today I've met one of my resolutions!! I'm gonna guess tomorrow we all sleep in just a little later than today :-)

New Year's Resolutions?? HUM
Are you thinking about your New Year's Resolutions?? Honestly, I have not, but there are always the old standbys: eat more healthy, exercise more, be more organized, be super mom (ok, this is a new on for me), eat out less, the list goes on and on.
So . . . . .having said all that, we (that would be Bond and I) are always talking about giving more outside the door, outside the church, outside ourselves. . . Don't get me wrong we give, but could we give MORE?? AHHHHHH, YEA!! So what are some of the basic human needs around the world?? WATER!! There are many people in the world that don't have clean drinking water. There are more people in Ethiopia without clean water than any other country in Africa. 75% of the country lacks access to clean, safe drinking water. For more amazing and jaw dropping statistics go here here. The organization Charity Water is currently working on providing 33 villages with clean water by providing them with wells. If you visit the Charity Water projects page you can other projects that they have in progress or have completed. See video below for some cool projects and three ways to help.
Think about what your New Year's Resolutions might be this year (should probably consider keeping the ole' standbys) and CONSIDER GIVING MORE. Consider thinking outside the box.

Another First and Am I a BAD mom??

So I'm deciding if I'm a really bad mom for laughing really hard or if I'm just a regular human being for laughing really hard?? Laughing at what you ask?? Well, Sunday morning we awake to completely iced over roads. So we are getting in the van to go to church and I back out of the garage, down the driveway and into the street. So far so good!! I take my foot off the brake and start moving forward except the van is moving sideways right for the very large snow bank of snow at the end of our driveway!! YIKES!! I'm just slightly nervous thinking, "If I can't get down the street, we are not going to church!" And then the girls realize that the van is moving in an odd fashion (not too often we drive sideways). So finally we make it to the main road and it's much better, but still I am being cautious. . . . The girls start their back and forth one uping each other and I ask them as "calmly as I can" to please be quiet because I'm trying to concentrate on driving. . . Of course Kidist has to start asking, "Why? We always talk in the car when you are driving." I attempt to tell them that I am concentrating really really hard on driving. Really their 'blah blah' noises are making me crazy at this particular moment and I just need to drive in quiet . . .and for anyone who has kids, you know what I mean.
Anyway, we finally arrive to church and I park in the lower lot thinking it's probably pretty slippery getting to the upper parking lot. We all exit the car and Bayat has my right hand as we start walking.
So get ready!!
Kidist steps out of the car and finally understands what I mean by slippery and icy and begins screaming at the top of her lungs because she is scared!! I found this to be absolutely hilarious!! I knew she would be ok, and she didn't fall, she just screamed with her hands up at her sides as if she were walking a tight rope all the way through the parking lot, "MOMMY, MOMMMMMMYYYYY, MMMMOOOOMMMMMMYY" You get it. Both Bayat and I are laughing because we are also sliding around the parking lot. We get into church and she runs to Bond crying and says that mommy and Bayat are laughing all the way. . . . . So this is my pondering question for the day. Am I a bad mom for laughing at my daughter as she slides across the parking lot, or am I just totally human for thinking it was funny?? I think I'm human for thinking it was really funny. My bet is that if I were able to video it, Kidist would look back and think it was pretty funny too!
